Network Rail engineers have worked overnight to successfully repair damage to overhead lines caused by an operational incident north of Watford Junction. This follows repairs already completed after the light aircraft crash near Stafford.
The West Coast Main Line is now open. London Midland expect to run a largely normal service today, however some Virgin services are likely to be delayed or cancelled due to displacement of trains and crews. London Overground is not impacted.
A fuller service is expected to resume from around midday.
